Some years ago, one of our customers started raving to us about a wonderful little winery he had discovered in a back street of a small village in Alsace, run by two brothers. “If you ever go to Alsace,” he said, “you MUST go to see Zwingelstein Frères!”. So two years ago, we did. And now, at last, we have some of their wines to offer to you. We have found both the quality and the value for money excellent. Normally, Alsace wines - even grapes such as Muscat - are made dry; these are not quite as dry as the norm. His wines are all “Vendangé à la Main” – ie hand-picked. When you try them, you will understand why the wine trade and press are always enthusing about Alsace wines; and you will fail to understand why British wine-drinkers are not beating a path to their doors in droves.
